IP Academy collaborates with China’s Jinan University to build IP knowledge and capabilities

On 13 January 2016, China’s Jinan University and IP Academy Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining cooperation to promote knowledge and capabilities in the field of intellectual property.

The MOU was signed by Professor Zhu Yikun, Dean of Jinan University Law School/College of IP and Ms Chiam Lu Lin, Executive Director of IP Academy Singapore. As part of the agreement, the parties will engage in capacity-building activities and co-develop training programmes, such as an IP elective module delivered by IP Academy for Jinan University.

This is the fourth partnership arrangement that IP Academy has entered into recently with institutions from Greater China, as part of efforts to broaden the Academy’s reach into the region and beyond. Other agreements forged since 2014 comprise those with Beijing’s Renmin University, the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, and the Hong Kong-based International IP Commercialisation Council.

Jinan University Law School/College of IP is based in Guangzhou, China.
