Is my invention new? Who owns the technology?
When charting research and development activities, do you verify if the technology already exists and if it is owned by others? Do you know that you can detect existing similar developments or inventions by conducting a prior art search?
Be trained by qualified patent examiners from the IP Office of Singapore in how they combine patent and non-patent literature in the search for prior art. The workshop shall guide you through patent searches in a step-bystep manner. It also covers search strategies, usage of syntax to increase efficiency, and identifying relevant documents via publicly available databases.

This course is suitable for business owners, officers from public agencies, researchers, engineers, lawyers, patent agents, officers from technology transfer offices.
PRE-REQUISITES
Participants should possess knowledge of patents, components of patent specification and understand information presented in search reports.
Participants are required to bring along a laptop or mobile devices to participate in the practical exercises designed for the workshop.
